Duties and Key relationships Marketing and Communications
This is a new role in the Marketing and Communications department and is responsible for the media relations of the Charity.
PR and Media Relations
• To develop relevant media contacts, as well as contacts in the sector, to maximise the reach and coverage of key communications campaigns as well as wider organisational projects.
• Produce creative copy written for a variety of audience groups which champions and shows best practice of our tone of voice
• Develop and support in house PR roll out
· Work with external PR agency on selected press releases where relevant
· Write press releases in line with campaign launches and key moments
· Develop pitches and news stories and other promotional copy.
· Lead on media briefings that convey appropriate key messages and prepare spokespeople
· Identify and interview case studies and media spokespeople
· Pull together monthly Data Analysis reports with the support of the Marketing and Communications Manager
· Send out weekly coverage reports with the Digital Marketing Officer, monitor external activity (including competitor) and incorporate best practice.
· Analyse reports to identify new opportunities and act up to grow presence in national press by identifying proactive and reactive media opportunities.
· Be part of out-of-hours weekend monitoring rota
Communications
• Maintain the communications calendar
• Research, write and distribute media outreach activities such as press releases, media comments, media briefs, features, blogs and letters to editors
• Be the first point of contact for media enquiries and manage the press office function in a timely manner.
• Maintain library system for press cuttings, monitor cuttings and report on results
• Lead on gathering powerful stories that highlight the impact of childhood cancer on the lives of children, young people and families
• Work closely with the fundraising and digital teams to coordinate and respond to the different needs for case studies
• Maintain a detailed and GDPR compliant contact management system of all case studies
• Work closely with the Digital Team to ensure that all campaigns and content produced is reflected on the website and across social media accounts
Families
• Maintain relationships with current patient families who are sharing their cancer journey stories with the media.
• Produce stories of patient families and share online and social media
• Work with a diverse range of case studies and media spokespeople and ensure they are treated in an appropriate and safe manner.
• Be key spokesperson for families media storytelling
Other
• Contribute to the overall Marketing and Communications function of Children with Cancer UK
• Carry out any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post

Principle Tasks and Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and the team, you will lead on developing and managing creative art programmes, projects, activities, and events.

Maintain and develop relationships among key partner organisations,local businesses, creatives, and host steering group meetings to develop new ideas and plans to progress and enhance the organisation, building communication and providing regular feedback.

Work with the CEO to develop annual organisational and project budgets, and manage ongoing programme budgets to ensure they are delivered as agreed within set budgets and timescales.

Research, implement and monitor programme and project plans, liaising with collaborators, partners, the community and artists.

Produce reports to ensure that relevant stakeholders are fully and consistently informed and updated about the progress of creative projects.

Determine and monitor the human and physical resources needed for the programmes/projects and ensure that they are available at the appropriate time.

Ensure effective marketing and publicity for programmes and projects.

Day to day project and personnel management, including staff and artists’ contracts, and project risk assessments.

Attend events, projects, and meetings on behalf of Community Arts by ZK, where appropriate.

Prepare and submit prompt reports, planning documents and information required by funders/clients with regards to service level agreements and any other contractual/grant funded obligations.

Ensure appropriate systems are in place for monitoring information required by funders and to ensure that all contracted staff are fully briefed as to their responsibilities in respect of monitoring information.

Maintain and update internal databases in order that data integrity is maintained and information is consistent across the data platforms.

Monitor and assess available funding opportunities, and work alongside the CEOto submit funding applications and tender submissions.

- Job Title: Justice Programme Manager

Headway is seeking a new Justice Programme Manager who will expand the current services to have a greater impact on police and probation services, improving knowledge and understanding and the support offenders with brain injuries receive.
We want someone who can both oversee the existing projects, such as our brain injury ID cards, whilst expanding the services in line with our new strategy, due to launch in the summer of 2024.
What will you do:
- Develop and implement a strategy for Headway’s work within the criminal justice system.
- Work with and develop key relationships across, police, probation services to improve knowledge and systems for offenders with brain injuries.
- Develop new justice related projects, including working with Headway’s fundraising team, to generate new income to expand the services.
- Work with the network of local Headway charities, to expand their work, within the justice system.
- Manage and deliver Headway’s justice related training initiatives.
- Oversee the successful delivery of Headway UK’s Brain Injury ID Card, including the line management of the project lead.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Assurance Manager to join our Audit, Risk & Governance Team. Although the role does not have any formal direct reports, the Risk & Assurance Analyst will have a dotted line into the Risk & Assurance Manager, providing support particularly on business continuity but also on risk management as and when necessary.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit organisations across the UK who specialise in adoption services. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.

FearFree deliver services across the South West for victims of domestic abuse, those who harm and their families and victims of sexual violence and stalking. Our involvement work brings together our community to mobilise urgent change in research, support, campaigning and awareness through the power of their united voices. The insight from our involvement network inspires and drives all our work across The Charity. This role involves actively engaging and stewarding everyone across all relevant and interested groups. This includes providing support to those living with a brain tumour diagnosis, their family and their friends. As part of our services team, you will ensure we engage all groups including those disadvantaged and less heard from, championing the voices of our wider community to grow our involvement network. You will also collaborate with those professionally committed to the cause, including our research community, to ensure that people affected by brain tumours have the chance to both shape and participate in research opportunities. You will be responsible for measuring and sharing the difference we are making through the delivery and analysis of our Improving Brain Tumour Care Surveys, empowering the community to identify the gaps in treatment and care experiences, so we can make a difference where it matters most.
Who we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will have experience of working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. As a highly motivated and established champion of community involvement, you will have a proven track record of delivering a programme of involvement activities, including tools and resources to support meaningful patient and public involvement in research.
